Port Angeles, WA (June 6, 2016) — The fourth annual Meowgaritas and Mutts dinner and auction netted $123,000 for the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society.
Along with the $123,000 from the dinner and auction, OPHS also received a check for $12,470 from Subaru’s Share the Love program. Koenig Subaru has selected OPHS as a beneficiary of Share the Love for the past two years.
Nearly 400 people attended the event and enjoyed a Mexican dinner provided by 7 Cedars along with a silent and live auction.
The 2017 event is scheduled for Saturday, April 29 at the Vern Burton.
The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society recently moved to its new location at 1743 Old Olympic Highway. Purchase of the 9-acre piece of land, construction of a dog kennel building and renovation of modular buildings on site was all accomplished from donations. The shelter incurred no debt in the process.
The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society has maintained an active presence in the community since 1947. The Society shelters and cares for animals of all types. A private, non-profit corporation, the Society is financed primarily by private donations and gifts. No animals are turned away and annually 2500-3000 animals pass through the doors of the facility.
