“House warming” gifts will be gladly accepted. Things like dog food, dry cat food, non-clumping cat litter, poultry flavored canned cat food, bleach (name brand preferred), liquid HE laundry detergent, dog and cat treats, Dawn dish soap (blue), dog and cat toys.
“We are really excited to show off our new home,” said Mary Beth Wegener, Executive Director of OPHS. “This is such a great environment for animals, staff, volunteers and our community at large.”
The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society moved to its new location at 1743 Old Olympic Highway in April. Purchase of the 9-acre piece of land, construction of a dog kennel building and renovation of modular buildings on site was all accomplished from donations. The shelter incurred no debt in the process.
The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society has maintained an active presence in the community since 1947. The Society shelters and cares for animals of all types. A private, non-profit corporation, the Society is financed primarily by private donations and gifts. No animals are turned away and annually 2500-3000 animals pass through the doors of the facility. For more information or to volunteer, please call the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society at 360-457-8206.
