Dogs

These dogs are available:

EveName: Eve
Breed(s): Pit Bull mix
Age: About 5 years old
Weight: About 65 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner surrender
General info: Eve was very scared when we first got her, but she has since become very sweet! Eve needs to go to a home where she will be the only pet, and where there are no kids. She can be very protective of her home so she will need a fenced yard to keep her safe.
Eve loves to play fetch! If you are looking for a loyal pit bull, please consider Eve!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

RobertName: Robert (aka Bob)
Breed(s): Yellow Lab
Age: 14 months
Weight: About 65 lbs (he’s a little thin)
Reason for being at shelter: Owner surrender
General info: Robert is a super cute boy with TONS of energy! Typical lab… Robert is friendly with everyone, and would probably be a good playmate for another dog of similar energy. However, he does not do well with cats! Robert is used to being an outside dog, and has developed a bad habit of digging holes… So, he may need to transition to a house dog in order to stop his digging tendencies!

*** Robert will be available to go to a new home after he is neutered ***
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

ZoeyName: Zoey
Breed(s): Pit Bull Terrier
Age: About 5 years
Weight: About 60 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner Surrender — Landlord says NO
General info: Zoey is a SWEETIE! She loves to jump up and give hugs! Zoey lived with another large male pit bull as well as a small Jack Russell Terrier and a cat. Zoey would make a great family dog! We will update more info as we get to know Zoey better.

** Zoey will be available to go to a new home after she is spayed **
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

Uno GrandeName: Uno Grande
Breed(s): Pit Bull
Age: About 2.5 yrs
Weight: About 80 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner Surrender — Landlord said NO
General info: Uno is a sweet boy with people, and he has lived with other animals, but he does NOT LIKE MALE DOGS. Uno would be a challenging dog for a first time dog owner. He will need an experienced owner that can handle him! Uno is a new arrival, so we will update more info soon!

** Uno will be available to go to his new home after he is neutered **
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

CeeLoName: CeeLo
Breed(s): Possible chow mix
Age: About 3 years old
Weight: About 70 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Arrived as a stray; owner chose not to pick up
General info: CeeLo is an ENERGETIC BOY! He is a good dog, with a good heart, but he needs some training! He will also need a very well fenced yard because he gets bored easily and will try to create his own adventure… CeeLo is not good with other dogs, and we don’t think he would like cats, either. Also, older kids would be best for CeeLo, because he jumps around a lot and may knock down small kids. CeeLo’s haircoat is VERY fluffy and will require either shaving, or lots of brushing.
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

Sid (in foster home)Name: Sid
Breed(s): Chihuahua
Age: About 5 years
Weight: About 3 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner Surrender
General info: Sid is a lovely little lady with a personality that is 5 times her size! Sid is lovable and playful with adult humans and older kids, but is scared of small humans — so, no small kids for Sid! Sid is currently living with dogs and cats in her foster home, but her foster mom thinks she may be happier being an only pet, or living with other older dogs/cats that aren’t going to want to play with her because she does not want to play with other animals… She has an alpha personality, and wants to be the boss! Sid’s foster parents love her very much, and they know there is the perfect home out there waiting for her!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $150

ButchName: Butch
Breed(s): Boxer mix
Age: Almost 8 years old
Weight: About 75 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Family became allergic
General info: Butch is a super kind and gentle guy. He is friendly with all people, and gets along with other big dogs. Butch was a family dog until his family unfortunately developed allergies… Butch does have some lumps in his skin (common for boxers!). Some lumps appear to be just cysts, but they have not all been checked out yet. Butch will be a great companion for someone looking for an affectionate boxer dog!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $60

DamienName: Damien
Breed(s): Pit Bull
Age: About 2 yrs old
Weight: About 80 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner did not claim
General info: Damien is a sweetheart! He came to us very skinny, but he has since put on lots of weight! He is great with people, and when he was out at our prison training program he was a definite favorite and they were very sad to see him go back to the shelter… Damien is OK with other large dogs, but we aren’t quite sure how he’d be with cats. Damien is having a hard time at the shelter (he does not like to be kenneled), so he’s drooling a lot and generally becoming very anxious. We know he will do better in a home where there is not so much activity and stress!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

MadiName: Madi
Breed(s): Heeler mix
Age: About 2 years
Weight: About 45 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Surrender
General info: Madi is a HIGH ENERGY girl! She definitely would benefit from having a job to do, or having an owner that LOVES TO RUN! Madi is a clever girl with lots of potential. She came to us having problems with food aggression, but we have worked with her every day on this and she is doing A LOT better. Madi is OK with some other dogs, and she may do really well paired up with another high energy dog so they can play every day. Madi needs an experienced owner (she might be very frustrating for a first-time dog owner), and a home with either LOTS of property or a well fenced yard.
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

Name: Sperry
Breed(s): Pit Bull
Age: About 4 years
Weight: About 85 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner Surrender
General info: Sperry is a super smart boy! He knows lots of tricks, and he’s super friendly with people. However, he’s not great with other dogs… It would be best that he be kept away from other dogs unless a very neutral introduction with a similar sized dog is done. Sperry is a relatively new arrival so we will update more info soon!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

Name: Max
Breed(s): German Shepherd / Lab
Age: About 2.5 years old
Weight: About 70 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner Surrender
General info: Max can be a shy boy with new people. However, he is beginning to warm up to us and show how sweet he can be! Max definitely needs some training (especially on leash!), but he has loads of potential to be a great pet!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

Name: Lady
Breed(s): Pit bull
Age: About 1 year old
Weight: About 50 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Owner Surrender
General info: Lady is a sweet girl! Super friendly with people, and seems to want to play with other dogs as well. She is a new arrival so we will update more info soon!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

Name: Sophie and Alexander
Breed(s): Chow Chows
Age: Senior (over 9 yrs)
Weight: About 75 lbs each
Reason for being at shelter: Their owners died
General info: Sophie and Alexander are new arrivals. They are pretty scared and timid right now… Their world has just been dramatically turned around after both of their owners died. We believe they are used to being outside; probably need to be the only pets… We are still learning about their personalities, and will update more info as we get to know them.
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $60 for BOTH dogs

Name: Myra
Breed(s): Chow mix
Age: Almost 9 years old
Weight: About 65 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: It’s complicated…
General info: Myra is a SWEETHEART! But… she does have her issues… Myra is great with people, and fun to walk on a leash, but Myra does NOT like other dogs or cats! She MUST be an ONLY pet in her new home. She has never seriously injured another animal, but she will CHASE!

Also, Myra MUST have a very well-FENCED yard. Even with her older age, and her missing a limb, Myra is still quite agile and energetic — she WILL chew through a rope and/or climb a fence to pilot her own adventures through the neighborhood.

Additionally, it is recommended that Myra be kenneled in the house when left alone. She has been adopted and returned once for doing damage to the interior of the house when she accidentally closed herself in a bathroom while wandering around…

Myra may be a challenge… But, with the right owner she’ll be a great dog! She just needs an experienced owner that can provide her with the kind of environment she needs to be safe and secure.
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $60

Name: Athena
Breed(s): Pit Bull
Age: About 2 years old
Weight: About 70 lbs
Reason for being at shelter: Surrender — can’t keep
General info: Athena is the SWEETEST girl! Athena used to be good with other animals, but as she matured she now prefers to be the ONLY pet in the home! Athena will need a very well fenced yard, and an owner that can keep a close eye on her (she likes to escape, and she’s very good at it!). Athena loves to be loved, and she needs an experienced owner to provide her with all the best!!
Adoption fee (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, and a health check from a vet): $120

LuLu is so happy! LuLu is a very sweet pit bull girl that needs a home that can spend lots of time with her (LuLu can get herself into a bit of trouble if she gets bored…). LuLu needs a home with no other dogs, and has lived with cats successfully. She would make a great family dog looking for a big happy bulldog!
