Name: Nancy
Age: About 5 years old
Breed: Domestic short hair – black and white – Tuxedo
Reason for being at shelter: Stray
Description: Nancy practically does a head stand when getting rubs around her head and shoulders. She happily rolls over when petted on her cheeks and purrs away. She lets out a raspy, rugged meow that sounds similar to a croaking frog and she has a mean look in her face but her personality softens when you pet her. Nancy kneads her paws displaying her happiness when being petted. She might hiss back at you now and then if a particular touch was uncomfortable but she comes right back for the rubs and continues to purr on. Her rugged personality sets the tone and puts everyone in their proper place at the outset; she just wants to be respected (and adored really). Nancy will hiss at other cats so she’s probably best as the lone cat of the house. But time may tell otherwise, when given time to adjust in a home setting. She has a small growth on the side of her right cheek but it doesn’t seem to bother her. Nancy is a Tuxedo kitty with a good purr, an appreciation for gentle affection and a gratitude for human contact.
